1 box of your favorite cake mix

1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee, cooled

1/2 cup of vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1/4 cup of instant coffee granules

1/4 cup of hot water

Steps

Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter

Start by preheating your oven to the temperature specified on the cake mix box. Then, in a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, brewed coffee, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. If you want to intensify the coffee flavor, dissolve the instant coffee granules in hot water and add it to the batter. Mix all the ingredients together until well combined and smooth.

Step 2: Grease and Flour the Cake Pan

Grease the sides and bottom of a 9-inch cake pan with butter or cooking spray. Then, lightly dust the pan with flour, tapping out any excess. This will prevent the cake from sticking to the pan and ensure easy removal once baked.

Step 3: Pour the Batter and Bake

Pour the prepared cake batter into the greased and floured cake pan, ensuring it is evenly distributed. Smooth the top with a spatula to create an even surface. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake according to the instructions on the cake mix box. Typically, coffee box cakes take around 25-30 minutes to bake, but the exact time may vary, so keep an eye on it. To check if it's done, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. If it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, the cake is ready.

Step 4: Cool and Frost the Cake

Once the cake is baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Afterward, transfer the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely. While the cake is cooling, you can prepare your favorite frosting. Cream cheese or coffee-flavored frosting work particularly well with coffee box cakes. Once the cake has cooled, generously frost the top and sides with your chosen frosting.

Then your homemade coffee box cake is now ready to be served. Cut it into slices and savor the delightful combination of coffee and cake. You can enjoy it with a cup of coffee or serve it as a dessert at special occasions or gatherings. With just a few simple steps, you can create a moist and flavorful cake that will impress your family and friends.
